Events - Homelessness Ends Here Tour
Participant's Comments
To RG Skadberg and members of the Board,
My Spring Valley Shelter tour in March was extraordinary. The sixty minute tour was well worth the time. Even though I was a part of a work team from Church of the Four Seasons for apartment renovation, I learned a lot about personal circumstances of the residents. The experience is still resonating with me.
Whoever scripted the journey through the lives of those helped was an absolute genius. "Bravo" to you and your team! The exchange of information was terrific I can't say enough. The starting point in the office to learn about the origin of the shelter is a great intro to what you are about to experience. One moves through the building quickly, yet sees a variety of services in a minimal amount of time. The audience participation is what moves the emotion to the "heart" level...
The learning center and real stories in the lower level really send the message home about basic fundamental and family functionality that might be missing from the individuals basic skills.
Many will hear my testimony tomorrow and in days to come. Thank you for a wonderful evening and inspiring me to get involved. I will be donating to the 24-hour closet and bring items from the needs list.
Sincerely,
Jo Toigo
